Cultivating the future
In July 2024, we hosted our first summer camp program at the Harvey B. Gantt Center's MODA, which was a resounding success. The camp attracted a diverse group of enthusiastic young students who were eager to dive into the world of audio engineering and music production. Over the course of the program, students not only honed their technical skills but also collaborated on various creative projects, resulting in impressive, professional-quality music tracks. The guest speakers provided invaluable insights and hands-on training, further enriching the students' learning experience. The positive feedback from both students and parents has been overwhelming, confirming the camp's success in fostering a vibrant, supportive, and creative community.
Demo Tape
At the conclusion of the Colorful Noise Masterclass, students presented their work in a final showcase labeled "Demo Tape." This presentation allowed each participant to reveal the music productions they had crafted during the course, demonstrating their growth in audio engineering and music production. The "Demo Tape" served as both a creative milestone and a professional stepping stone, as students shared their original tracks with peers, instructors, and community members, celebrating their journey and newfound skills.
January 2022 Masterclass
In January 2022, Colorful Noise launched its inaugural Masterclass, held at the Harvey B. Gantt Center's new digital arts studio, MODA (Mecca of Digital Arts). Partnering with Wilson STEM Academy, this groundbreaking 6-week program introduced students, aged 11 to 16, to the world of audio engineering and music production. Designed to give participants hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment and software, the Masterclass provided an immersive learning environment led by top professionals in the field. This initiative not only empowered young creators but also cultivated local talent, giving students from underrepresented communities the opportunity to develop essential skills in the music industry. The success of this first Colorful Noise Masterclass laid the foundation for future programs that continue to inspire and equip the next generation of artists in Charlotte.
Industry Professionals
We brought in industry professionals, multi-platinum audio engineers, music producers, and DJs to mentor the students, providing them with expert guidance and real-world insights. These professionals worked closely with the participants, ensuring they gained hands-on knowledge and practical skills in audio engineering and music production.
